Income Tax Refund Not Received — Status, Reissue Request and Grievance
Quick answer: First check whether the return was processed under Section 143(1) and whether the refund was paid. If the refund failed because of bank details, correct and pre-validate the bank account on the portal, then submit a refund reissue request. If that does not resolve it, raise a grievance on e-Nivaran with your acknowledgement and bank validation details. Delayed refunds earn interest under Section 244A at 0.5% per month.
